Like for most of us, the first months of the pandemic were really scary, especially in NY where the coronavirus had hit so hard, and we decided to take a pause until things looked a little safer for us and for our clients. We were happy to see how most of our clients would contact us to reschedule their dates and even discussing the possibility to modify the package for an option where the ceremony would be held outdoors.
In the case of Christina and Cliff it was wonderful how they kindly reached to us and together we were able to find a safe and at the same time beautiful option for their marriage. Now the situation of the virus in NY was so much better and an outdoors ceremony in Central Park as they had originally planned was the way to go! Although they had only closest family member attending they wanted to share their day with extended family and friends via Zoom, which was amazing. We first did a photo shoot with just the two of them around their neighborhood (UWS), then met their guests and we all walked together for a socially distanced ceremony officiated by David and after that a toast and a “victory lap” around the park which was so fun!
This was our first wedding in the times of COVID-19 and it gave us the confidence to go back to shooting and officiating outdoor weddings and elopements always observing the safety recommendations, using masks and social distance which are the best weapons we have against the virus and can give us the option to celebrate amazing weddings while we move our lives safely into a “new normal”.
